Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice of Suffolk (VNSHS) is an independent not-for-profit healthcare agency that serves patients and their families throughout Suffolk County Long Island with visiting nurse home and hospice services, inpatient Hospice House, rehabilitative therapy, medical social work, home health aide care, nutritional education and diabetic counseling, community programs, and more.

Schedule & Location:

Schedule: Part-Time, approximately 3 days per week. Requires working alternating weekends. Specific days and hours will be determined based on operational needs.

Primary Location: Hospice House, East Northport, NY.

Secondary Location(s): Main Office, Northport, NY.

Must possess the flexibility and reliable transportation to work shifts at either location (East Northport or Northport) based on scheduling and operational needs.

Some Job Responsibilities:

Perform scheduled cleaning tasks at assigned VNSHS facilities (Hospice House and Main Office)

Clean and disinfect surfaces such as tables, countertops, desks, and fixtures (sinks, toilets, etc.)

Vacuum all carpeted floors and wet mop all hard-surface floors as scheduled

When assigned to the Hospice House, clean and disinfect patient rooms daily, paying close attention to high-touch surfaces including, but not limited to, side rails, over-bed tables, call lights and cords, bedside tables, chairs, and all bathroom surfaces, using EPA-registered hospital-grade detergent/disinfectant

Coordinate with nursing staff as needed for scheduling room or bed cleaning

Conduct thorough weekly and/or monthly deep cleaning tasks as assigned at both facilities

Monitor inventory levels of housekeeping supplies at assigned locations

 Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

Valid Driver's License and access to reliable transportation required for travel between work sites (East Northport and Northport).

Ability to proficiently use a smartphone or computer tablet to access, manage, and update work orders via a third-party application; willingness to learn and utilize required technology.

Previous housekeeping or environmental services experience, preferably in a healthcare or office setting, is a plus.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
