Job Title: Construction Estimator

Location:

Hybrid (Working from home, bidding jobs in the Southeast).

As we continue to expand, we are seeking a driven and experienced Estimator to join our team and play a key role in achieving our ambitious growth goals.

About the Role:

As an Estimator , you will be responsible for developing accurate and competitive estimates that directly contribute to securing $15–20M in annual construction backlog. This will involve assessing and bidding on projects averaging $100–120M per year, with a target win rate of 15–20%.

You will be integral to our success, using your expertise to evaluate opportunities, perform quantity take-offs, and assemble multi-disciplinary estimates for commercial and light industrial projects. Some of these projects will be on government facilities, so the ability to pass background checks and gain clearance is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, assess, and bid on opportunities sufficient to generate $15–20M in annual backlog.
  • Review solicitations and RFPs for technical and contractual requirements, including all disciplines (civil site work, MEP, and finishes).
  • Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings to gather critical project details.
  • Perform quantity take-offs based on plans and specifications.
  • Solicit and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and vendors to develop comprehensive estimates.
  • Prepare accurate and competitive proposals that align with client expectations and company objectives.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience :
  • Proven track record in construction estimating, with at least 5 years of experience (required).
  • Familiarity with commercial and government projects is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills :
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with estimating software or tools (e.g., Procore, Sage, or Bluebeam) is a plus.
  • Knowledge :
  • Deep understanding of construction processes, regulations, and performance standards.
  • Soft Skills :
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Decisive, with excellent leadership and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills for working with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred).

  • Familiarity with AIA billing and government contracting requirements is a plus.
