Position: Human Resources Manager

Location: Remote (Charlotte, NC area — within 30 minutes of the airport)

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic HR Manager to support our expanding operations. This is a high-level role with a focus on overseeing HR functions across multiple retail locations in a fast-paced, high-turnover industry.

While this position is initially remote, it will transition to an in-office role once our new Charlotte, NC location is finalized.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all HR functions across multi-unit retail locations in six states (MA, RI, MD, VA, NC, SC, NY)
• Lead full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, screening, hiring, onboarding, and background checks
• Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations
• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures aligned with company goals and industry best practices
• Collaborate directly with executive leadership, including the CEO and CFO, on strategic HR initiatives
• Provide HR support and due diligence during new store acquisitions, including limited travel as needed
• Address employee relations issues and support a positive and compliant workplace culture

Qualifications

• 5+ years of HR experience in a multi-unit retail environment
• Experience working in a high-turnover industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, food service)
• Proficiency in payroll systems and processing
• Proven track record in recruitment and onboarding across multiple locations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience supporting senior leadership
• Ability to travel occasionally for site visits or acquisitions
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred; HR certification a plus
