Job Summary  

This position performs full-cycle property accounting operations as a member of the accounting team under the direction of the Accounting Manager. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following duties are normal for this position. These duties are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.

  • Oversee and maintain property accounting records in conformance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Completes monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Accurately records journal entry transactions into the general ledger.
  • Generates financial reports as required to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual processes.
  • Provides analytical support regarding budget variances, financial statement accounts and financial performance metrics.
  • Complete monthly, quarterly and/or annual reports for HUD, MHFA, and lender requirements.
  • Provide support to the annual budgeting process.
  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
  • Provides year-end support to the annual audit process and requirements for the preparation of audit work papers.
  • Provides support to the establishment and documentation of accounting policies, internal controls and operating procedures. (i.e. fixed asset accounting, accounts receivable processes, accounts payable, depreciation schedules, etc.)
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
  • Maintains a focus on process improvements and ways to gain greater efficiencies.
  • Provides additional support to the Accounting Manager and Corporate Controller as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 Minimum Requirements

  • Understanding of financial statements, general ledgers, trial balances, accounting theory, and accounting software systems.
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility with work direction and job duties.
  • Willingness to cross-train with other members of the finance team.
  • Ability to work under and meet assigned deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across the organization and with various departments and levels of management.
  • Experience with Yardi is a plus.
  • Willingness and commitment to engage in and dedicate time to developing personal cultural competency.

Hours:  Standard business hours - 40 hours per week 

  Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 2-5 years of financial accounting experience
  • Or a combination of education and experience

Salary:  $65,000.00-$70,000.00 Yr., DOQ

PPL's work structure has evolved into a Hybrid Model  where available , striking a balance between on-site presence at the office or satellite locations and remote work from home  based on the program's needs. Working with your supervisor to find the right balance for your team will evolve over time.
