Heritage Golf Group is the fastest growing owner and operator of private golf and country clubs and high end daily fee clubs in the United States. Headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, Heritage has grown from six properties in 2019, to 37 locations across the east coast and Midwest. Our mission is to be the leading platform of family-oriented golf/country clubs and premium semi-private/resort courses in the industry.

Our Company is seeking a Systems Administrator to serve as a crucial part of our IT team. The Systems Administrator plays a pivotal role in the effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure. This position is instrumental in ensuring the availability, integrity, and security of our IT systems, which are vital to meeting our organization's business needs.

Responsibilities:

System Installation and Configuration

• Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software.
• Set up and manage operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux) and virtualization platforms.

Network Management

• Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, ensuring optimal connectivity.
• Implement and maintain network security measures, such as firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

Server Administration

• Administer and support servers, including Azure, file, email, and web servers.
• Perform regular system updates, patches, and system backups.

User Account Management

• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
• Provide user support and troubleshoot issues related to access and permissions.

Security and Compliance

• Implement and enforce security policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular security audits and assessments.
• Ensure systems comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Backup and Disaster Recovery

• Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures.
• Test and implement disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime during system failures.

Monitoring and Performance Optimization

• Monitor system performance and make recommendations for improvements.
• Identify and resolve hardware and software issues proactively.

Collaboration and Documentation

• Collaborate with the Director of IT and departments to implement and support IT solutions.
• Maintain accurate documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Help Desk Support

• Help the support team solve more complex tickets.
• Assist with new computer set-ups.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience
• Proven experience as a system administrator or a similar role
• Proficiency in system administration tasks on various operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.)
• Knowledge of networking protocols, security standards, and best practices
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified, Azure Administrator, CompTIA Server+, etc.) are a plus
• Must be able and willing to travel on short notice
